Apple Distinguished School

Berkeley Preparatory School has proudly earned the designation of Apple Distinguished School. If you wander around campus, you’ll find teachers and students using a wide variety of Apple products in wildly imaginative ways. We champion innovative learning and teaching, incorporating technology at every level of the educational journey.

In Lower Division, students…

  • in kindergarten through fourth grade regularly work independently with Apple iPads in classrooms

  • begin using an Apple MacBook in fifth grade (100% of our students in fifth through twelfth grade own an Apple laptop)

  • learn about coding, programming, Digital Citizenship and Acceptable Technology Use, 3D printing, green screen filming and production, and how to use digital microscopes in the Pagidipati Center for Science, Engineering, and Technology

In Middle Division, students…

  • may continue their STEM education outside the classroom in the Robotics Club

  • use Apple MacBook computers to build civilizations using Minecraft in their Global Studies I classes

  • access digital tools to brainstorm and prototype solutions to environmental issues within the Center for Environmental Research and Experiential Science (CERES)

In Upper Division, students…

  • make an impact by teaching coding to Berkeley Academy scholars

  • create digital art and animation for competitions and public display

  • use AirPlay Apple TV technology to share class presentations
